We believe children are a gift from God. We want them to grow in their love and experience with God, just as we are doing as adults. We want our children and youth to be an active part of our church family and to develop the gifts and talents that God gives them. Our children and youth learn the stories of the Bible, how to pray for each other, how to give and serve others, and how to share with others the love of God at home, at school, and with their friends.
We like to meet you and your children before the service. This gives us a chance to say hi, and get them registered for their classes. Children who are infants through 2nd grade have classrooms down the hallway on the left side of the lobby. They will stay with their classes throughout the morning. Children in 3rd grade and older have classrooms located further down that same hallway. These older kids will join you in singing at the beginning of the Service, and go to their classes during Announcements. An adult will look out for them and make sure they get to the right room and group. We have a 3rd grade classroom and Tweens (4th through 7th grade) and Youth (8th through 12th grades) meet together for their classes. Be sure and stop at our Welcome Desk and ask for directions at anytime!
Starting 15 minutes prior to the service, you may simply go to the classroom check-in station and the teacher or volunteer at the door will happily greet you and help your child feel that he or she is welcomed with us. If your child has a food allergy, please notify the teacher, since snacks are served during their classroom time. Both you and your child will be given a tag with matching numbers. Hold onto this tag, as you will need it when you pick up your child after the service. Parents are welcomed to come into the rooms with their children at any time if they would like to.
The kids and youth can expect to have fun with their friends learning amazing things from the Bible. They will play with adults who love to listen to them as well as help the children know how deeply God loves them. They will learn stories from the Bible, do crafts, sing songs together, and learn to pray.
At each check-in location, a trained and loving adult will greet your child. We keep the teacher to student ratio small so that we can know each child by name and watch over them carefully. All of the classroom teachers have background checks and are trained in appropriate and safe behavior with the children. Every classroom has at least two adults at all times.
At the time of check-in both the parent and his/her child will be assigned a number. If you are needed by your child, you will see that number on the projection screen that is located at the front of the worship meeting room.
